NAMIBIA

Namibia, often dubbed the 'Gem of Africa', stands as a testament to nature's raw, untamed beauty. Unlike many of its African counterparts, this wondrous land offers longer vistas that stretch endlessly beyond the horizon, a profound sense of space that soothes the soul, and an exotic array of flora and fauna that promises unparalleled discovery. There's a palpable spirit of adventure here, which thrills the heart and soul of every intrepid explorer. Its allure is undeniable, captivating visitors in a spellbinding embrace and enticing them back, time and again, to its vast, mysterious landscapes. If you seek a safari experience like no other, Namibia awaits.

The Basics

  • Namibia uses the Namibian Dollar (NAD) as its official currency. However, it's worth noting that the South African Rand (ZAR) is also accepted in Namibia due to a monetary agreement between the two countries. The Namibian Dollar is pegged to the South African Rand at a 1:1 ratio, making them interchangeable in Namibia. However, the Namibian Dollar is not accepted as currency in South Africa.

  • If you want to see the wildebeest migration in the Serengeti, the best time to visit is between December and July. The wildebeest migration moves in a circular pattern from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara in Kenya and back, and the timing of the migration can vary from year to year.

If you want to see the greatest concentration of animals in the parks, the best time to go on safari is during the dry season, which typically runs from June to October. During this time, the animals tend to congregate around the remaining water sources, making them easier to spot.

If you prefer to avoid crowds and get lower prices, the best time to go on safari in Tanzania is during the wet season, which typically runs from November to May. However, keep in mind that some roads may be impassable due to heavy rains, and some lodges and camps may be closed during this time.

  • Tanzania has many different languages spoken by various ethnic groups, but the official languages of Tanzania are Swahili and English.

Swahili is the most widely spoken language in Tanzania and is used as a lingua franca between people who speak different languages.

English is also widely spoken and is used in government, business, and education. In addition to Swahili and English, there are over 120 different indigenous languages spoken in Tanzania, including Sukuma, Chaga, and Haya.
